Lift modernisation

Modernise rather than replace: we compare at least three companies, analyse the solutions and negotiate before award.

Lift modernisation

Modernisation means upgrading the decisive components of an installation whose structure remains sound: machinery, controller, doors, safety, car. It costs significantly less than a replacement and is completed in a shorter time.

It is almost always the right answer for an installation that still works, but costs a lot, breaks down often, or is no longer supported with spare parts.

Modernise or replace?

The decision depends on three factors: the condition of the structure and the shaft, the availability of parts, and the usage expectations of the building. A sound shaft with a suitable structure allows modernisation; an unsuitable shaft forces replacement.

We establish this comparison in documented form, with the costs and limits of each option, so the decision is made on figures rather than an impression.

What a modernisation covers

Modernising does not mean replacing everything. It is a set of technical packages that can be phased according to the building’s budget and operating constraints.

  • Control cabinet, frequency inverter and regulation
  • Machinery, winch or traction unit depending on the installation
  • Landing and car doors, operators and safety edges
  • Car: cladding, lighting, controls and signalling
  • Safety devices and compliance upgrade
  • Accessibility and travel comfort for all users

Tender and negotiation

We formalise the requirement in a specification shared by all bidders, so that offers are genuinely comparable. Without this work, the offers received answer different scopes and the comparison is wrong.

We then negotiate prices, schedule and warranties, and follow execution through to handover, in coordination with the manager or the occupants.
